My name is Shabbi Luthra and Paradigm Shift is my blog.

For a few years now I have been an avid reader of educational and leadership blogs. I hope to use this blog to participate in the online conversation about education in the 21st century, contribute to the ongoing dialog, connect with readers and authors of other blogs, and continue to learn and grow.

I am currently the Director of Technology at the American School of Bombay in Mumbai, India. I am also the director of ASB Un-Plugged, a biennial international one-to-one learning conference organized and hosted by the American School of Bombay. The school is recognized as a leader in technology integration and the use of innovative technologies to enhance and enrich student learning.

I hold a doctorate in Educational Media and Technology from Boston University.  I began my educational technology journey in 1985 with integrating technology in the curriculum and building technology integration programs.  I am currently having loads of fun leading change in the only K-12 laptop/tablet school amongst overseas American schools. This is my sixth year at the American School of Bombay and my 25th year in the field of educational technology.

In addition to my work at the school, I also provide consultative advice to schools in the US and overseas on technology planning, tech integration, and implementing one-to-one programs. I have presented many workshops at conferences and forums around the world. Teaching graduate courses at Boston University is something I also enjoy doing.

I am a learner, and continually seeking opportunities to learn and grow. I don’t have all the answers to the many interesting questions that technology in education raises. But I am continually learning from others’ as well as my experiences to develop solutions and raise further questions.
